Die Energieversorgung insbesondere in Ländern des globalen Südens nachhaltig zu gestalten ist eine komplexe Aufgabe – zu komplex, als dass sie von einer Disziplin gelöst werden könnte. Erstmals in diesem Semester organisiert das Promotionskolleg Mikroenergie-Systeme daher die Ringvorlesung „Energy in Development“. Zusammen mit Studierenden und Nicht-Studierenden aller Fachrichtungen wollen wir uns dem Thema nähern, Einblicke in die Herangehensweise verschiedenster Disziplinen erhalten und den transdisziplinären Blick auf die dezentrale Energieversorgung schärfen. Dazu werden Vortragende aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft ihre Arbeit und die Herangehensweise ihrer Disziplin an das Themenfeld vorstellen.

Alle Interessierten laden wir herzlich zur Auftaktveranstaltung mit der Entwicklungspolitik ein am Dienstag, 29. Oktober 2013 im MAR 0.011 (Marchstraße 23) um 18 Uhr.

Zur Ringvorlesung „Energie in Entwicklung“ treffen wir uns dienstags von 18 bis 20 Uhr (beginnend am 05. November 2013) im Raum Mar 0.011

In the context of the ongoing debate on the challenge of sustainable energy for all that stresses the need to improve access to reliable, affordable, economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound energy services for sustainable development, the public series of lectures aims to provide an overview of how different disciplines address that problem. Since decentralized solutions play a crucial role in many scenarios for a sustainable future energy supply, especially in structural weak areas, they will constitute the focus of the lecture series “Energy in development”.

The series’ main objective is to put energy systems in context and therefore to outline a variety of theories and methods across all disciplines and to discuss exciting new scientific breakthroughs that may impact the future development of a sustainable energy supply. Topics include technological innovations like ‘smart grids’ or ‘swarm electrification’ as well as the analysis of environmental impacts, the role of energy in the development process, resistance against energy and development, perspectives of the users of energy technologies and historical perspectives on decentralized energy supply.
